Tepper School of Business at CMU Hires Kisker Productions
In May of 2017, the Tepper School of Business hired Kisker Productions to create more than one dozen faculty video profiles, including a legacy series of esteemed pioneers in education called “Tepper: An Academic Mind.”
In just one day of production with Mara Falk, Director of Communications, we captured fascinating interviews from faculty members: Brent Glover, Craig Markovitz and Sridhar Tayur. They discussed everything from the motivations for corporate inversion, the nexus of robots and business in healthcare, as well as how OrganJet is addressing the transplant supply and saving lives.
Prior to that, we gathered an enlightening interview with distinguished University Professor of Industrial Administration and Applied Mathematics, The Thomas Lord Professor of Operations Research, Egon Balas. In addition to creating fundamental work in developing integer programming, Balas’ life is awe-inspiring, as detailed in his book: “Will to Freedom: a Perilous Journey through Fascism and Communism.”
We also sat down with IBM University Professor of Operations Research Gerard Cornuejols and sixth-year Ph.D student Aleksandr Kazachkov to discuss Professor Balas’ legacy.
Prior to the Professor Balas’ interview, we profiled Professor Chester Spatt, the former Chief Economist and Director of the Office of Economic Analysis at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), plus two of his collegues. We travelled to Washington D.C. to videotape Professor Spatt in the city where he spent years guiding national policies regarding securities litigation and financial regulation.
Finally, KP enjoyed capturing a little fun at the 2017 graduation ceremony at Soldiers and Sailors Hall. The Dean of Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon guided the TepperBot 3000 across the stage to receive diplomas for two graduates unable to make the ceremony – but who were able to experience the ceremony live via the robot.
Stay tuned for the finished Tepper faculty profiles……
