Autumn’s Army
When Autumn Zundel suffered an unexpected brain injury, 84 Lumber joined “Autumn’s Army” in a big way!
84 Lumber Design Manager Jarred Frescura was just planning to ask for some donated lumber to help his friend, Dave Zundel build an addition to accommodate his daughter’s new disabilities. They were planning to work on the weekends to build a bedroom for Autumn on the main level of the house so she wouldn’t need to use stairs.
When owner and president, Maggie Hardy Knox found out, she donated everything for the remodel.
84 Lumber chose Kisker Productions to document the progress of the construction for the project that expanded to include Autumn’s bedroom, an ADA Compliant bathroom, an exercise room for therapy, a laundry room, a covered porch and a concrete walkway from the house to the barn. The project was completed in just three weeks. 84 Lumber incorporated design elements to reflect Autumn’s favorite colors and her showmanship with animals to continue to motivate her on her recovery. Kisker Productions returned to the Zundel house to document the finished project as well as a special drive-by homecoming parade to welcome Autumn home.
