Phipps Conservatory Launches 3D Matterport Experience

Phipps Conservatory created a virtual experience the share the beauty of this renowned Pittsburgh gem.

Motivated in part by the COVID pandemic restrictions, Phipps chose Kisker Productions to capture its indoor gardens and spaces with Matterport 3D for the public to experience safely from home.  Because it remained open with limited capacity and because the horticulturists water and tend to the plants early every morning, Gwen Kisker was allowed a small window to scan everyday.  She planned the models carefully to include several rooms in one model while connecting them internally with “deep links.”  Working with Joe Reed, the VP of Marketing, Kisker Productions determined how to open those multi-room models to specific places to coordinate with the existing overlay map on the Phipps website. The result is a seamless, realistic, life-like experience that captures and shares the beauty of the city’s green oasis.
